I was very concerned with my left hearing loss. I wanted someone
to listen carefully and help me interpret what problems I had
with hearing and communication. Adrienne helped both to identify

| What were
your hearing issues prior to coming to Absolute Hearing? |
Poor hearing in my right ear. I was aware if it for a long time
and two ENTs told me I had a perforated ear drum. As a lecturer,
I struggled to hear softly-spoken students in the classroom, especially
on the right side. |
| What solution was recommended? |
One ENT recommended surgery. The other ENT suggested a hearing
aid. Absolute Hearing recommended 2 hearing aids. |

Are you happy with the result? |
Yes, I am very pleased with the options and range

How have your new hearing
aids helped you? |
My wife now gets annoyed when I don't
wear my hearing aids. They help in the classroom, at home and

I could only cope when the volume was loud, such as television
and radio. My family was sick of my hearing loss and even sent
me to a different room as they complained that the TV was too
loud. |

| What solution was recommended? |
Digital hearing aids in both ears. I chose in-the–canal style
as they are small and most cosmetically appealing. |
| Were you reluctant to
try hearing aids at first? |
Yes, a little reluctant at first as I thought
they may be intrusive and that people would stare at them. Mind
you, glasses are not bad... but when I saw the small size of my
hearing aids, I had no cosmetic concerns whatsoever. |
What can you do now with
your new hearing aids? |
I can watch TV with my family. I also don't feel
stupid anymore as I can follow conversations without lip-reading.
My relationship with my family has also improved. |

was forced to lip-read and ended up guessing half the time. Most

| How did you find out
about Absolute Hearing? |
I first walked past the clinic and then 12 months
later my GP referred me... and then another 12 months later I
made an appointment and decided to get hearing aids. |
| What solution was recommended? |
At first I wanted the little hearing aids that go in the ear,
so that they wouldn't interfere with my glasses. But because my
left ear canal was too small and the aid was uncomfortable, I
changed over to behind-the-ears - they are so much more comfortable
and I have no problems with glasses. I sometimes forget that I
am wearing hearing aids at all. |
| Were you reluctant to
try hearing aids at first? |
Of course, another sign that you're getting older. |
What can you do now with
your new hearing aids? |
I don't need everything so loud - I can hear everything!
My children and doctor are so happy. Actually, I often have to
tell family and friends to stop shouting. |

I really appreciate the courtesy extended to seniors
as many people don’t treat us with respect. I liked the way I
was able to change over hearing aids when not happy with the small

What were
your hearing issues prior to coming to Absolute Hearing? |
Voices were indistinct and I always had to ask people to repeat themselves. I couldn’t watch TV/films unless I was wearing headphones. |
What solution was recommended? |
Jack recommended a pair of Siemens hearing aids that sat comfortably behind my ears. |
Are you happy with the result? |
I’m very happy indeed. I put them on in the morning as soon as I get up and don’t take them out until I go to bed. I hardly even know they are there after a couple of minutes. |
How have your new Hearing Aids helped you? |
I no longer have to wear headphones when watching movies and can converse quite easily in almost all situations without having to ask people to repeat themselves. Even in meetings and noisy environments, I can really understand speech. In fact, I regularly play golf and recently I forgot to take my hearing aids with me and I really noticed the difference. I missed most of the conversation with my playing companions and couldn’t hear what they were saying. |

back? |
The convenient location and the great service. I also come to pick up batteries and get the aids checked out for me. |

despite Adrienne telling me that it would be twice as good - looking

Now my hearing feels back to normal. I can hear
