it. The message sounds garbled, like someone mumbling, as the vowels (low
pitch sounds) remain clear but the consonants (high pitch sounds), which
carry the meaning and clarity of speech, are lost.

Some people are born with hearing impairment while others develop hearing loss working in a noisy environment or from ear infections. In adults, however, most hearing problems are related to the natural ageing process.
